Energy & Emission
Energy Saving and Emission Reduction
Energy is a crucial foundation for economic and social development and serves as the lifeline for industrial enterprises. Energy conservation and efficiency are vital in reducing energy costs and bolstering product competitiveness. It is also the most direct, effective, and economical means to reduce carbon emissions at present.
Optimizing Energy Structure
Chambroad promotes the development and application of new energy, including distributed photovoltaic power and decentralized wind energy, exploring integrated development models like solar-agricultural and solar-fishery synergies. As a supporter of the government's 100 MW wind power project, Chambroad installed a photovoltaic capacity of 24 MW and constructed a 2.26 MWh energy storage station, with 110 charging piles installed in industrial parks, and renovation completed in 4 integrated energy demonstration sites. It is also a participant in power market trading, facilitating the use of green energy for some products.

Developing Circular Economy
Chambroad encourages comprehensive utilization of three wastes and constantly breaks technical bottlenecks for resource recycling. This extends the three wastes utilization chain, fostering a green, low-carbon circular economy. The integrated use of refinery acid gas produces sulfuric acid, sodium hydrosulfide, and by-product steam with annual outputs of 150,000 tons, 30,000 tons, and 320,000 tons, respectively. Moreover, carbon dioxide in exhaust gases is refined to produce 50,000 tons of industrial-grade carbon dioxide annually. Dispose of only classified, sorted, and processed wastes and promote the reduction, recycling, and utilization of "three wastes". Construct a managing center for renewable resources, integrated upstream and downstream resources, recycled processes, distributed scrap iron and steel, and non-ferrous metals from local industry. Plan and construct enterprises under the renewable resources category of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and build trading centers in Binzhou and the surrounding areas with renewable resources.
Promoting Energy Saving
Chambroad improves the park's industrial ecological chain by intensifying waste heat recovery efforts, cascaded energy utilization and water recycling. The company, collaborating with South China University of Technology, performs energy consumption diagnosis and systematic optimization in all Group's companies, reducing total energy consumption by 5%. It also implements reactive power compensation and harmonic management of the distribution system to improve the power factor. Several energy-saving initiatives have been rolled out, including the tiered utilization of flue-gas residual heat from pulverized coal furnaces, residual heat recovery from RTO furnaces, and intermediate water for fire-fighting water, cumulatively resulting in energy savings worth more than 18 million yuan.

CCUS Demonstration Project
Chambroad has completed the world's first 100,000-ton CO2 direct utilization CCUS demonstration project in 2023, a key project in 2022 in Shandong Province. Utilizing steel slag, magnesium slag, furnace slag, calcium carbide slag, and other bulk solid wastes generated during the production process of iron and steel, electric power, cement, and other industries, and through their mineralization reaction with the CO2 flue gas, Chambroad forges a new carbon-negative material with high strength and high carbon sequestration. Its strength and durability comply with the current national and industry standards. The goals of energy saving, waste recycling, and carbon negativity are achieved, and CO2 emissions can be reduced by 100,000 tons per year.
